Logan Arand Commits to Alvernia University

Logan Marie Arand: Alvernia University – Reading, Pennsylvania

After her fifth season, Logan Arand has come to the end of her Cyclones career. Logan was selected as the 19U captain for the 18/19 season, the team went undefeated in regular season play, posting a record of 15-0-1 and claiming the President’s Cup in the Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL).

This fall she will attend Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania and continue her career playing for the Golden Wolves, an NCAA Division III program. Interestingly, she will be facing her former teammate Katy Reed (goalie) when they meet each other in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC).

Growing up as a ‘rink rat", Logan began playing hockey at age 5 with Kirkwood Stars until the bantam level at which time she made the switch to the Cyclones. She also played high school hockey with Summit High School and with Timberland Varsity in her senior year. She was part of Team Missouri and was selected to the Senior All Star team. Logan also played field hockey, volleyball and ran track, but ice hockey was always first and foremost. She played defense for the majority of the time with the Cyclones. Despite her feisty play and ability control the defensive zone, she was asked to play forward on occasion in her senior year. This happy accident was noted by Alvernia Head Coach Coach Josh Brandwene who has her slotted to play both offense and defense in the coming season.

Logan attended Ursuline Academy in St. Louis making First Honors in her senior year. She will be studying Forensics and Criminal Justice this fall.

She looks forward to hanging a St. Louis Blues Stanley Cup banner in her dorm room! Logan is the daughter of Jim and Michelle Arand.

Good luck Logan and Go Golden Wolves.
