Camps/Supplemental Training

Camps and Supplemental Trainings are a great opportunity for girls to further improve their skill level and keep sharp during the off season. These sessions can include on and off ice training.

Ages will depend on programs offered. Check program details for specific age groups.

Usually offered in off season but could include special sessions during fall season.

10U Bootcamp

10U Boot Camp

This is a two hour camp for 10U players that will be a first step to get them ready for the upcoming season. It will be led by Lady Cyclones coaches. It will work on skills and situations to help advance their game. This camp is for both minors (first year players who have never played full ice) as well as majors. We will work on the following:

Stickhandling

Passing

Breakouts

Defensive zone coverage

Offensive zone entries

Scrimmage/ game situations

CYCLONES DAY CAMP JUL 10-14th

This custom week long day camp will feature twenty hours of on-ice instruction. Two hours each morning focusing on power skating and edgework and two hours on the afternoon focusing on a particular area of emphasis (See schedule below) The camp will be lead by Tyler Elbrecht and his team from Elite Hockey Camps.   Full Day, 5 Day Camp, open to all female skaters of ages 5-14 years old (2008-2018 Birth Years)

The camp will include: 

20 - hours of on-ice skating/skills instruction (two in the morning and two in the afternoon)

5 hour of off-ice activities throughout the week 

This is a custom program for the St. Louis Lady Cyclones but is open to all girls in the St. Louis region regardless of where they played hockey for the fall 2020-21 season. The details of the schedule and curriculum can be found below.

Afternoon Ice Time Areas of Emphasis

Monday - Stick Handling

Tuesday - Shooting and Scoring 

Wednesday - Battle Camp/Body Positioning

Thursday - Stick Handling

Friday - Small Area Games

Session Details:

Morning Skating Session - The two hour morning session will focus on power skating, Edgework and skating technique. Specifically working on edgework, tight turns, explosive starts and proper stopping 

Stick Handling Session - Players will work on developing quick hands, improving upon maneuvers such as a toe drag & reverse toe drag, stickhandling without looking at the puck and puck protection.

Shooting & Scoring Session -This session will focus on shooting technique, weight transfer, quick release shooting and techniques for increasing scoring proficiency

Battle Camp and Body Positioning Session - will focus on how to properly & safely fight for loose pucks, win one-on-one battles, protect the puck,  and how to use body positioning to gain possession and neutralize an opponent. 

Small Area Games - The final afternoon session of the week will put everything together in some small area games. Small area games are great for increasing competition, battling for loose pucks, puck protection and creating scoring chances in tight spaces.

All skaters must provide their own lunch and all hockey equipment

2023 July - 6U/8U Skills

6U & 8U Skills/Game Session

Want to keep your skill up this Summer? This camp can help with that. We will have two sessions in July that will be run by Lady Cyclones coaches. The first 40 minutes of these sessions will be dedicated to skating and puck skills; the last 20 minutes will be cross ice 3 on 3 or half ice games, depending on numbers. This is a great way to get on the ice, have fun, and get ready for fall season that starts in August. Further details are below.
